My favorite UAV Flight Safety app (not to be named here) recently went behind a subscription model. I took this as a challenge to create my own with the help of AI. I was again surprised that Gemini produced a 90% solution within a few prompts. Over the next day I iterated a few more useful metrics to track in the app. To my surprise, I only needed two external resources, one API for the weather details, and one JSON dump from NOAA for the solar activity indicator (Kp).
